My History teacher is allowing me to do how sporting grounds have influenced sport in Western Australia between 1890-1958 for my Western Perspectives Units.

He is a mad Swan Districts supporter and remembered watching my dad play, thought he was to young to have a kid at university

But heck because I have to include Archaeology into the essay as it is half History, Half Archaeology, I get to study grandstands, why venues had things called inner and outer, how stands show us about sport in WA.

Basically I take notes about stadium architecture and how this helps us learn about Western Australian sport.

Off to Eftel Oval this weekend, loving my essay question 8)

Bet you're glad those grandstands weren't demolished now :wank:

Actually I was having a debate with him about the credibility of keeping the Fred D Book stand...although I said we will leave it for another time

Egan

Considering this was 2007.. by now you should have turned this into a PhD.. or a Masters at least.

I was second year in 2007.

About to start a Grad Diploma at Flinders. I may need to do it for South Australia for the thesis in 2010 if I get into Masters. Or go the full hog and do the project as a PHD subject.

If I get a 70% average in the Grad Dip, it will follow through into Masters the next year at Flinders.

Then if I am still a motivated university student I will come back to WA and do the topic on stadiums as a PHD.

If a thesis ever gets written, I will be sure to let people know.

Yeah I know, it would be whether I have the confidence to attempt something such as a PHD.

That's true, but yo're obviously intelligent.

Piss off all this TAFE grad dip sh*t - do something worthwhile!

Flinders University in Adelaide, so not quite TAFE.

1 year Grad Dip, 1 year would have finished a masters.

Have to do this before I can even attempt the PHD.

Cheers for the kind words redback.

I've got nothing to say. Though the whole Finders-TAFE thing reminded me of my uni days. My friends used to refer to my alma mater (Macquarie University) as Macquarie TAFE because it didn't have the prestige nor the sandstone of the inner city unis.

When do you move to SA Egan?
