Just received a responce from the Western Force, which will be the first of four articles that gives another picture to this competition. All I hear is negativity so I thought the new competition deserved some exposure with the other side of the story.

My articles aim to fill gaps in the Australian Sports Media and give the alternative stream from mainstream.

Will be giving all four state unions articles on the upcoming Rugby season which has been virtually ignored by other press.

The Force one should be up in the next few days.

The Zoom Zoom Amusing Rah Rah Cock Up has been getting favourable publicity over here. The renegade Sydney clubs that opposed it were quickly silenced. If all you hear is negativity, you need to read more columns and less forums.

And journalist's views are the only factors we consider whether this competition is being embraced positively? Not the feedback being given on a forum such as this? It works both ways.

Nobody forces people to read them, so if you do not want to read it, don't.

TBH the only supportive columns I've read have been re-hashes of the ARU's press releases, y'know the ones that say that the Melbourne Rebels are named after Weary Dunlop, crap like that. What little pub the Cock-up has been getting is negative is because it deserves nothing but bad publicity.

A bigger issue is they just haven't generated nearly enough publicity to even get this thing on its feet. Maybe JON can do something about it.

Don't worry I intend to make the NSW/QLD article balance up, because there are some concerns about where they have put teams from my point of view. I just for personal interest want to know how things are heading around the country - because I know nothing.

Looking at doing a follow up with John Giorgi the CEO of the Town of Vincent today about his views on the Major Stadia Taskforce/Members Equity Stadium.

The WA article is interesting in its sheer optimism on the behalf of Peter O'Meara, he states in one of his comments "I do not have to feign excitement of the APC".

Plus the Rugby forum members on this site seem to have gone, as an all sport website that used to have a decent Union talk back in around 2002/03 its an area the website is lacking in members.

I read this as a good thing. Journos accepting the word of the press release more often than not.

Just finished article number two on the Melbourne Rebels, whose aims for the Super competition have not allieviated.

An interesting article, with the Rebels aiming at 5000 people per week going to watch the competition.

Three more to go.

Cheers

An interesting article, with the Rebels aiming at 5000 people per week going to watch the competition. ...

Is that 5,000 for the whole competition or just the Rebels. If the latter, then their first task must be to make at least 5,000 people in Melbourne aware that they even exist.

Is on the front page, budgeting for crowds of 5000 per week at Olympic Park.
