Website/Stadium Updates

Postby cam » Wed Apr 20, 2005 11:25 am

New photos added for Ericsson, WIN, Telstra Dome, Glenferrie, Moorabbin (on 'Photos' pages).

Will try and post on this topic when photos are added. You can see when actual stadium pages were updated by sorting the list of stadiums by Last Updated on the main page.

Will you be adding HD's photos of NSW Soccer grounds? I was a huge fan.
I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

And will you be adding my photo of Norwood Oval!
My name is Dr. Worm.
Good morning. How are you? I'm Dr. Worm.
I'm interested in things.
I'm not a real doctor,
But I am a real worm;
I am an actual worm.
I live like a worm.
I like to play the drums.

Just a note cam, the East Stand at Ericsson is going to be renamed the Stacey Jones Stand. I'm not sure if it will catch on with officialdom though.

Is that official or is it how Melbourne Storm named their stands after Tewera Nikau and Glenn Lazarus.

Surely there are greater NZ players more deserving.

While we are here, what exactly is a 'Sticky' Subject, and why is this particular one "sticky"??

Sticky means the topic stays at the top of the list. This particular topic is sticky so people can easily find it when looking for info on when photos were added to stadiums on the site.

Jeffles, I thought the naming of the stands at Olympic Park was pretty official - there are pretty large signs on each of the stands with the names.

Didn't know about the signs.

Sounds unusual. OP Stadium has been associated with athletics and soccer a lot longer than it has with RL. I thought I'd be seeing a Cathy Freeman Stand before Glenn Lazarus.

Not official....yet....

But he's been the face of league in New Zealand, and the Warriors. The Warriors have always been based at Ericsson Stadium. He is the last foundation player to leave - easily the greatest player to play for the Warriors yet.

Fair enough. I was thinking of someone from the 1950s or something. I have no one in mind. My knowledge of NZ RL history is not the best.

For Toowoomba Stadium,

official name: Clive Berghofer Stadium
former names: Athletic Oval, Stadium Toowoomba
Home teams: Toowoomba Clyesdales
annual events: Brisbane Broncos pre-season trial

also, QEII Stadium is now officially known as QSAC (Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre
