Austadiums.com now includes a page for every stadium which automatically downloads a photo feed from the popular photo site, Flickr. Simply click on the flickr logo on the right-hand side on any stadium page to view. Eg, here's the MCG page: www.austadiums.com/stadiums/stadiums_flickr.php?id=71

And, you can now sort stadiums by sports played. Go to the main stadiums page (www.austadiums.com/stadiums), at the top-right, choose a sport from the drop-down list. Eg: www.austadiums.com/stadiums/sort_sport.php?sport=3 Also linked to/from sports pages.

More to come!

Cheers mate. Before I leave Perth, I will get some photos of Eftel Oval or if Les has a chance to find his photos and put them up. It seems to be the only major WAFL, SANFL, VFL ground that we are missing on the site...

My pictures of that venue are in a photo album in storage in Sydney. The scanned pictures were on my old computer which died but there maybe a back-up on a friends computer.

When you now search for a stadium name (www.austadiums.com/stadiums), it will also search for former/other names. As most would know, we don't recognise the pissy little naming rights deals when listing the stadiums. Only the major ones in general.

So, if you're looking at the AFL pre-season fixture and wondering where the hell Visy Park is, type it in and Princes Park will appear. Or, if you type in ANZ Stadium, you'll get ANZ Stadium and the Queensland Sports & Athletic Centre. Should make life a bit easier.

Not to fret, I got the CEO of the Perth Demons to send me a copy...

According to this:

http://www.kogarah.nsw.gov.au/resources ... hlife1.pdf

Jubilee Oval capacity is now 21,000. Which seems about right.

Also, if my reading of Ticketek is right we're tracking well for a post-R2K (2003) record this weekend.

I doubt it. I will never forget the plans for the BoQ stand at Ballymore which promised a capacity of...

wait for it..

3,800.

this is for a stand that straddled the whole field.

Bad design and seating can ensure a rugby [or RL for that matter] field has low capacity.

Jubilee will be lucky to get 11000 all seated.

Alright guys, now that my footy commitments are over for 2009 (well, as VP, it never ends, but far less to do at this time of year!) I'll be working on getting things up to date here. Over the last couple of nights I've been working on entering all AFL/NRL results & crowds that I had missed, still got several more rounds to do. And stadium info & photos, there's a bit to get updated. Have received info from a lot of people during the year, I'll try and catch up with them, or else feel free to send stuff through to admin@austadiums.com

Bit of a milestone with 250 active stadiums now listed on the site, with the addition of Margaret Court Arena as a separate venue. The site is continuing to rise in popularity. Over the first few days of the Australian Open, each day has had over 3,000 visits and twice as many page views. Facebook and Twitter over the past few days has created heaps of exposure thanks to the competition running to vote for the face of Austadiums. See the post under the Australian Stadiums forum for more details. We've had the MCG, AAMI Park, ANZ Stadium and other venues tweet and post on Facebook about the comp and linking back to us.

There are plenty of venues that need updating. Some have been (view stadiums sorted by updated date here: www.austadiums.com/stadiums/index.php?a=view&sort=dated DESC). Will be adding in a link to make it easier to update venues but in the meantime if you have any updates, please shoot through to admin@austadiums.com

Cheers everyone!
