I'm refusing to think about either the AFL or NRL until after the cricket season.

Then again, the weather in Sydney so far this summer has been perfect for football...

Nathan Bock is latest casualty of AFL gambling rules. Suspended for 2 games + $10,000

Good article by Mike Sheahan in today's HeraldSun on the state of football. He makes excellent points &, interestingly, says there will be a resident Tassie team in a few years.

You'd have to like the chances of me starting a flame war at some point.

It is always good to have AFL haters trying to rebut positive comments. Missing Egan's super intelligent attempts at scorn :-)

Wasn't there supposed to be zillions of south africans (resident in south africa) playing aussie rules by now?

Darryl White banned for life

GREY MORRIS | December 22nd, 2011

Saints Darryl White juggles a mark. Picture: JUSTIN SANSON

THREE-TIME Brisbane premiership player Darryl White has been banned from playing football for life.

White's one-match ban for striking Tiwi Bomber Donald Mungatopi took his lifetime suspensions to 16 games - one above the maximum allowed under a new AFLNT deregistration policy for players and officials.

White was deregistered under the ruling that places a life ban on players suspended for more than 15 games.

...
Where do I start.

1) They actually have a limit, and it's 15?!

2) Someone actually got to 15?

3) How much football gets played during a football game up there?!

The drawings for the new Doug Wade stand look good - but disappointing that it will have 1,000 less seats. That's 1,000 less visiting supporters that can be fitted in to the ground :-(

Kp is becoming boring. Also, I hate the cricket now with BBL taking over the real teams

Just listening to BBL from Hobart. If they can have a successful team with good crowds, why can't they have their own AFL club?

Because football hates Tasmania.

Come on it's what you wanted to hear.
