“It is pleasing that we were able to play matches in seven different states and territories and the competition has rated very well on Fox Sports, so much so that it has been locked away for another five years"

So its going to be around for another 5 years

Correct - it will be around for at least another 5 years. Was confirmed back when the broadcast rights were announced. And mentioned in today's media release. Grand Final this weekend between Claremont and Williamstown at Patersons Stadium. Live on Foxsports. Press conference tomorrow.

I'll see you there . I'm tipping a big win for the blue and gold !

You're saying this rated well on Fox . Can we interpolate an AFL reserves competition doing similar and thus contribute to funding ?

Yep like all games, it didn't attract nuetrals.

Games at Medibank Stadium and Arena Joondalup had larger crowds because it wasn't claremont that was playing. Didn't even have another side in Perth to boost attendances up.

Nines - We don't want an AFL reserves system, crowds, sponsors, integrity of game would be further eroded.

Claremont had about as many supporters at the grand final last year.

It is a shame that the WAFL team to get through in the comp was Claremont, if it was Swans or East Perth in the final then there would have been 3 or 4 times the crowd there, possibly more.

^ Yep, was going to say that. Not much difference between Williamstown and Claremont in the end and it wasn't exactly Claremont's best performance of the year...

The neutrals were at other WAFL games FFS.
Post GF would be a different story .
No promotion outside of Fox. I had to work hard to find the date/time .

We ? I was soliciting an opinion not a lecture ,You don't know me at all .
Not only only has the AFL done without reserves since they abolished them ,but they should ban associations that have developed in the VFL to return to an even playing field .

:wank:

Westies have loyal supporters. When they're bottom of the ladder 1,500 show. When they're top, 1,500.

Norwood is a 3,000 supporter club with a rent a crowd. Have you ever given directions to a Norwood supporter to find the Parade? I sure have!
I had to ask one which bus to catch when the Leggies played North a few weeks back.

The surface of the stadium at the Parade was akin to Moorabbin at its worst, which is weird as I was there the Monday evening before and the surface was nowhere near as bad.

Liked the Coopers tent where the North Grogs found themselves & enjoyed the atmosphere and history sitting in the old grandstand down the other end.(Loved the members bar full of photos and things too)

It was a wet day, there was live tv but there were still over 4000 in attendance. A great effort in my books.

If I lived in Adelaide I'd be at the SANFL every week without fail. Good honest footy & a great hark back to the days of footy in the outer with a good drink in your hand. 8)

Current aggregate for the season is into the 230,000+ bracket, like I said earlier in the thread this is just going by the numbers that I have been able to find.

Might be worth a shot, have you asked Spellcheck from safooty/footysa? He is a walking stat machine.
