Hussey is untouchable. No doubt in the Ashes he'll get 5 golden ducks in a row and will be about to be dropped, but then he'll hit a thrilling 100 off 550 balls. The media will hail it as Hussey's amazing revival and we'll be blessed to see him in the Australian team for another 20 years.

Captaincy certainly seems to suit James Hopes, bowling is tight and economical and his batting has improved as well, although thank god Ryan Harris is back. Bulls picked up first innings points down in Tassie, on the back of a good partnership between Hopes and Hartley. *Yay* First Points of the Season *Yay*

NSW are in a bit of trouble unless Clarke can save them, Victoria really are a strong team. Maybe we should make life easier for ourselves and just play the Victorian Shield team in the First Test. Quinley, Hodge, D Hussey, White, Macdonald, Wade is a decent batting line up.

Ponting missed a sitter at third slip that let the Bulls get away for the lead.

Not that I want to get the NSW vs. Victoria thing going again, but I would argue that Katich, Hughes, Khawaja, Clarke, Watson, Haddin, Smith is stronger....

One may be stronger on paper, but I would say performances from Victoria have been better for the past couple of years. But you're never going to chuck out the incumbents unless their not performing.

It does highlight the unfortunate consequence of such a crowded international schedule - wouldn't it be great if these sort of lineups were the norm rather than the very rare exception for Shield games...

Hell of a turn around by South Australia against Tasmania in the last shield game. Almost unbelievable.

If Pakistan was one of those teams it would be completely unbelievable.
