"an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected."

It would be an event I would not have expected...

Anyhow tight NBL games be interesting to see how strong New Zealand are this year.

Geez, there it is. I see things so clearly now.

Someone ate rice in china. My grass needs mowing. The irony!

Do you want me to say you win?

Anyways I would think it would be ironic if the ABL's resugence came in the same year as the loss of the NBL competition.

Irony is subjective...

In reference to Alanis Morrisette's ironically non-ironic song someone said "there's not a single piece of irony, just a list of bummers". What Egan's defined isn't irony, it's a "bummer".

Wow, Mineralogy FC isn't the worst supported club on the Gold Coast.

Just reported on TV that the NBL are going to be on channel ONE for the next 5 years - minimum 2 games a week.

I doubt they would have paid much for the rights, but you'd think it will give them far better TV audiences than they would get on Fox.

No brainer for One as well, the sh*t they have been showing in prime time over summer has been craptacular.

One certainly struggles for prime Australian content, so your right, it does make a lot of sense for them to pick it up. Good news for Basketball if the increased exposure helps as well. Must have paid at least similar to what Foxtel were going to pay them, unless it is a shared arrangement, with them each having about 2 games a week.

I read the Adelaide Now website and One HD paid more than what FoxSports was going to offer. Fox Sports had the final bid and chose not to match the offer of One HD.

Good to see a Sydney team back in the competition.

All I'm seeing here is if One is willing to pay for NBL then the A-League has a realistic chance.
