The corresponding fixture last year drew 12,455 at Kogarah - something the anti-Homebush brigade won't always mention. Last night's figure was 15,000 odd.

Saints' ticketing structure worked against them because there were few people sitting along the wings but a lot behind the goals.

I notice the new grandstand on the hill at Mt Smart. Is that permanent? It looks really out of place.

It's a really dodgy temporary fixture - i'll sit in a real stand thanks.

On the game: Bloody hell! Another subpar performance, but good to get the win.

Yeah but 30,000 of those seats are closed to the public so it's more like 15,000 in a 50,000 seat configuration, which is comparable to fixtures at the SFS nobody complains about.

The only complaint about ANZ Stadium one can make is how far it is behind the goals, but then that's to accomodate other sports.

The anti-Homebush brigade challenge that there were 15k there. Likewise David Morrow and the ABC team. The ABC team are good at a lot of things but over the years haven proven themselves woeful at crowd guesstimation.

My guess is that the official crowd was fair, but included a fair number of freebies.

There were many more fans in the northern behind-the-goals area than the southern one, because that was closest to the car park.

I gotta say though, I do miss Kogarah.

Screw it, since we're bringing up what the ABC did badly lately....

Got to the car after the Warriors game. Turned on the radio to find Manly/Souths in action.....it took 15 minutes for them to give any indication of the score and 20 minutes to tell us the score.

Pretty pissy, but i wanted to say it somewhere.

Oh yes, that's the other thing they do. I've had the same frustration.

It's only the Morrow/Ryan team that suffers from that though. The other guys tend to remember.

Anything around 12k or over looks good at WIN. I think it's the combination of the hill being the most visible part of the ground to the television cameras and such a large amount of capacity at the northern and southern ends.

The hill, like most hills, looks almost full even when it's half full because people take as much room as they can.

It looked much better "in the flesh" than I was expecting. I still wish they'd go back to the white shorts/socks with the red alternate jersey.

I was sitting in the Northern Wrap on Saturday night (the funny looking uncovered extension to the Northern Grandstand so I couldn't really see the hill.

I'm pretty sure that's a regular sign that has been to all or at least most of the Saints games this year.

I think it reads.

NO KOGARAH
NO SOUL

With R2K in the background.

It's a pro-Kogarah, anti-Homebush sign more than anything else.

I think this is the sign you are talking about, courtesy of www.ourredv.com (which, for those who care, is the new website of the Dragon Army or what's left of it).

Boy the Roosters look good this year. They're playing a lott better than I expected.

The Warriors and Canberra came good yesterday but both have to contend with poor travelling form.

If we can keep winning at home until the likes of Price and Ropati come back i think we can consider it a good start. And i was listening to the Raiders game on the radio on the way home and didn't bother to watch it when i got inside back home. Imagine my surprise to see the score later on

The Roosters are looking scary this year.

And have we finally decided the Eels are crap?
