Wests Tigers v Dragons, Sydney Cricket Ground, Sun 3.00pm  . Didn't notice that one before, could be interesting.

Broncos v Cowboys, Suncorp Stadium, Fri 7.30pm
And thank you Channel 9 for completely screwing over Brisbane traffic, could have gone for the sunday arvo slot which if the recent debate over the nighttime GF are to go by the Broncos and Cowboys would be very happy to play on the Sunday arvo.

The Tigpies have moved two home games against traditional rivals (us, Souths) to the SCG. That game was ALWAYS going to be the Sunday arvo Channel 9 game.

The Sunday afternoon grand final thing is a complete furphy of an argument. However, when the AFL tried to back the NRL/Channel 9 into a corner they made their bed and now they'll have to sleep in it.

Looks great for the Melbourne Storm. Open the season at Telstra Dome. The Warriors game is always one of the biggest with all the kiwi's here, so should be a great turnout. With the other big drawer being the Broncos - they're one of two Friday night games given to the Storm (both home). And another Sunday game on Ch9, good to see the TV coverage contueing. Hopefully Ch9 Melbourne broadcasts them.

Get f***ed Monday night

I don't mind neutral games on then, but it's just so late here. Unless i'm forgetting about daylight saving which might make it an 8pm kickoff in NZ.

Not if NSW host the Pura Cup Final. Apparently the Blues get first call.

I could see this at the end of an episode of The Glass House where they look at the headlines.

Souths Leagues Say No To Pokies:
"TAB and Keno The Best Way to Ruin Families"

Souths Leagues have decided to get rid of pokies from their club. Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes a Court wanted to create a family friendly club, etc. They received support from a lot of community groups and silly Senator Nick Xenophon. They have around 60 pokie licenses left. They once had 160 but previous chairman George Piggins sold 100 licenses to keep the club afloat when he refused to resign for his own incompetence.

I really don't see Souths as moral crusaders. This decision is only part social conscience and part media stunt. As I allude to above, there is no mention of TAB and Keno, two gambling outlets that are arguably as objectionable as pokies because they provide the same potential to cause addiction and ruin families. Souths will continue to accept funds from pubs and clubs that benefit from pokies. Further, even if Souths' leaner Leagues Club operation does not affect the football club's operations, are revenue streams for other community projects the SSLC supports still guaranteed. PHAC assures us this is the case.

Noticed the new jerseys in Mick Simmons yesterday with the 100 years logo on them.

You're fighting a losing battle when the Germans in the room are cheering for the Aussies

When they were sh*t, this was South Sydney's Grand Final. Now, it's just a good trial. Looking forward to it.
