Absolutely massive strides for aussie rules in New Zealand, with St Kilda signing a NZ player under a scholarship programme. Amazingly, this one has played the game before. For a month.

Number of footballers in South Africa - 4,540,410.
Number of registered footballers in South Africa - 1,469,410.
Number of football officials in South Africa - 20,557.

They must be very worried about the pimple on their a*se that is AFL.
But former Socceroo and Fox Sports television commentator Bosnich told SEN those statistics were misleading.
"Statistics are a bit like bikinis – they show you a lot but not everything," he said.

I think the 20,000 number playing AFL would be plausible if you put sporting participation to a ballot.

As long as it's in alphabetical order.

Unconfirmed reports that on receiving his guernsey and shorts from an AFL media manager pre-photo shoot the young man was heard to say:

"Do I have to wear this bro?"

If the game is growing overseas... why aren't we hearing about it from them? Because it doesn't exist. All they're doing is promoting this idea of foreign conquest to garner support for the game's administration at home.

Governments do it all the time, it's called propaganda. And all you're doing is reinforcing the game's image as the bogan game.

Hey, I mean knock yourself out buddy. I've got plenty more oxygen here to laugh with.

I didn't know this was the fight club.
I'm very happy with the way Australian Football is developing overseas because I find Australian Football the best.
Australian Football being an Australian game is a bonus.
I don't see why more Australians be more positive for this fact alone.
Naturally other people think their sport is the best.
But do other people expect Australian Football supporters to support other Australian football teams
when those football teams' supporters are constantly bagging the uniquely Australian game of football.?

Feel free to follow the Victorian game. It doesn't worry me one bit. But as a New South Welshman please don't try to tell me it is my country's game because it isn't.
