Great post, Stadium Seagull. Whatever one thinks about McGraths merits, personality or form etc as a cricketer, I don't believe even his most staunchest critics here would want this to happen to him, or to be out of the team for this reason. I've also had a close family relative taken by this same cancer. I join SS in hoping for the best - an issue that goes way beyond the things we enjoy debating here.

yep.

Symonds performed under pressure. Good on him!

A little bit sad the way Murali's been treated. Shame to see him with the most expensive 10-over ODI figures ever in his second last match in Australia (probably ever as well). On the other hand...HAHAHA suck. We absolutely smashed the living daylights after the 3rd over. Don't forget Clarke's 50+ off 25ish balls, and Hussey scoring 23 off 8 BALLS!

Ponting is a hypocrite after not walking when the Sri Lankans claimed the catch

Mmm, that p!$$ed me right off. As did his speech on Friday night in Adelaide after the match which he said something like “the crowd was disappointing tonight so hopefully we can go to Sydney with a better crowd”. Never before have I heard an athlete say this in front of the crowd that bothered to turn up after 5 months of a long, hot and at times boring summer. Any genuine normal person would thank the crowd for turning up.

Such a selfish, idiotic, hypocrytic wanker. I can now confirm I hate Ricky Ponting and have no respect for him other than his freakishly talented batting.

I have no idea about the standings in the competition, is it over yet? If it isn't, there's still hope that Australia will lose.

My patience with australian cricket and the australian cricket team has ended.

I got close to giving it all away when I saw Brett Lee smiling on the boundary line when we were about to lose the Ashes.

But what has done it for me is tuning into the WACA game, seeing a wicket fall, and in the moment of ecstasy Bill Lawry cries "tell someone about it on your 3 mobile!"

on field he is great sports person no doubt about it .

but off the field he is looking like a moron.

not just adelaide incident . his reaction to tufnell inspid jokes at border medal dinner says it all.
why cant he accept some stupid jibes from pom without whinging

here is reaction to ponting whinging

Tufnell was shocked at the reaction of a skit done "for a bit of fun". "Good gosh ... how on earth has it come to this? I thought Australians had a sense of humour," he said in The Courier-Mail. "I'm sorry if I caused any offence ... My advice to Ricky and the boys would be to enjoy life before it's all gone

Finally its over, last nights crowd was 26,139 at the Gabba, 14 were arrested, 72 were evicted, some not even drunk. The Gabba chief is at a loss to see why the crowd seemed bored when Gilly was blasting them and they are in such a wonderful venue, well Einstein, they were from the eastern stand in which they have to endure the heat in a concrete monstrosity, then they have to watch Katich as well, plus the game was pretty predictable and has been going on for a long 4 months, plus the crowd is behaving just like the Australian cricketers at the end of the day...

I’m sure if the Australian side weren’t a bunch of tossers the crowd wouldn’t be either. For example, Hewitt and Rafter are undeniable tossers, before them Australian tennis crowds were regarded as the nicest and most educated in the world, now due to these two brats we have the Fanatics and the worst tennis crowds in the world.

It is amazing how this latest thing on the Australian cricketers wanting a tunnel from the SCG pavilion to the field, BTW Symonds, there was need to shove that harmless bloke with your bat, he wasn’t posing any threat you D-Head. They are pretty much saying that they do not want to associate with the crowd that gives them their fortune and dream career, even the tame Members at the SCG! Losers, they don’t even deserve to make the famous walk in Australian Sports’ most historic building anyway.

I’m not even going to pretend to support Australia from now on until I like at least 50% of the side, even then I will still have to think about it.

Please tell me you are joking.

The French at last years French Open were disgraceful in the match between Sebastian Grosjean and Rafael Nadal.

I found the crowd in Perth to be extremely respectful and had no fanatics...they were also well educated...they loved the hawkeye though

Great Crowd at the GABBA

I've cracked the shits with them as well. I want a team I respect to represent me on the field. If I don't respect them I'm going to give my best to the other side, even if it means England. Enough is enough.
