Club Supporters

Post by Jeffles »

Hey guys.

Jut after a picture of the type of people that support certain clubs. Particularly the AFL. In the NRL, you have your typical supporter for each club. Bleach blonde surfers from the Shire follow the Sharks, trendy yuppies and ex-Eastern Suburbs working class people follow the Roosters. Working and not working class people from the inner city slums follow Souths, etc

I know carlton are silvertails and collingwood is full of weirdos and derros. , bulldogs are westies, But what about the other clubs. I can help with NRL if anyone needs. Cheers

28,000 to Dockers
17,000 to Melbourne

The Dockers had come into a competition right when the eagles had won flags in 92 and 94. They entered in 95 and most of the supporters of the Dockers are working class people 'as they say', rugged port side club. While the Eagles are basically aimed at the middle class. The Eagles have a stranglehold on sponsorship money and membership in Perth. The Dockers supporters will get on the bandwagon if they string a few together, 30-32,000 a week. If the Dockers ever got a home final in Perth it would be a full house unlike at Port Adelaide when they host finals.

Glory supporters- multi cultural appeals to middle, lower and upper class and children with effective marketing. Bandwagon support of 30,000 on June 1st ( mainly uneducated, know nothing about soccer )

Essendon - every one thats not a dockers or eagles supporter in W.A, More aimed at the middle class, iconic figure in Kevin Sheedy who is a long supporter of aboriginal football players thus having a large indigenous supporter group.

Sydney Only supports them in big matches, bandwagon club much like Dockers, a big game they will never miss any others they just wont show up.

Collingwood
Any one and every one as long as they get to '40,000'
