Rain tipped for the WAFLS biggest day on Foundation Day...why couldnt it have been this weekend that we had the holiday :x

With showers hope 2,500-3000 go to both...if it had been fine i was hoping for 4000 +

Not bad crowds last weekend, and the Peel Thunder FC for the first time I have ever seen (well havent been to many of there away games) had about a third of the total spectators.

Why oh why did it rain on the biggest WAFL day of the year

Rd 12 crowds, I was only 10 outside my estimate for the Thunder crowd, smaller crowds are probably easier to do.

East Frem v South Frem at East Fremantle 3,262
Perth v Swan Dist at EFTel 2,843
East Perth v West Perth at Leederville 2,724
Peel v Claremont at Rushton 1,190

These crowds look about right as the real figures, certainly the bottom 2 look reasonably correct...you can really see the weather has affected the figures, 6000-7000 for this game would reasonably be expected on fine days...and have seen 10-11,000 be reported for this game in previous seasons.

A weeks break for this weeks state of origin at Carrara and then a big game at Steel Blue Oval, hopefully its a fantastic fine day and the Swans supporters come out and get a crowd between 2500-2800

Swan Dist v Subiaco at Steel Blue 2,382
South Frem v Perth at Fremantle 1,299
Claremont v East Fremantle at Claremont 1,125
West Perth v Peel at Joondalup 1,058

A shocking crowd attendance at many of the grounds...cold weather didn't help, but it was a decent crowd at Steel Blue Oval...who have only been below 2000 once this year.

You can see the longest away trip in the comp resulted in no away fans from Peel, and no attraction for Falcons supporters to want to watch the match...and the morgue had a typical low crowd...but it was probably boosted upwards by about 600

Hmm bigger crowd when Peel played Sth Fremantle...hopefully we get over 2,500 for the top of the ladder clash between Subiaco and Sth Fremantle this week at Leederville Oval.

If that was the last weekend's round, then the WAFL beat the SANFL's Round 12 crowd total by 207 people.

These are the official crowds released by the clubs.

Thanks to Steel Blue Oval...they are hoping for 3-4000 people for the Subiaco v Sth Fremantle Top of the Ladder clash at Leederville Oval.

Lets hope the rain holds off...a few members of this forum are heading to that clash...while peterss and myself are heading down to Donnybrook.

For all those Eagles and dockers supporters this weekend...NO EXCUSE to head down to the WAFL, unless your team is playing in Donnybrook.

I was waiting for one of you Victorian blokes to talk that crowd up. Yes, you can have that one week this century that a VFL game draws a crowd :)

Yeah was a great crowd - about 5,500 I think. A record attendance and record gate for Box Hill. If only it happened more often.

I don't rate him better than god - maybe only his equal  .

Funny you should say that - Saturday's HUN (same day as your post) had a double page spead about him and the wife in the weekend magazine part - with a full page photo on the cover - article was basically all crap . Still waiting for a sex scandal to break out.

His B.O.G. (all close to) performance on his comeback against Sydney was no joke. :D

On a serious note, it would be nice to see the VFL clubs not having to be dependent on the appearance of AFL superstars to attract big crowds, but instead have their own independent following - just like the VFA glory days before the AFL grew so omnipotent. Some weeks back, Coburg attracted # 4k to Punt Rd Oval (which is next to MCG for those who don't know). It was mainly Richmond supporters attending prior to their game at the 'G).

IMHO Coburg as an entity is dead. It only exists in name.

You're probably right - and Coburg probably isn't the only one.

There were quite a few Hawthorn fans there as well.

It was Angelo Lekka's return from a stroke as well

Melbourne's answer to Bekham?? No competition - Warnie has that covered.
