Swan Dist v South Frem at Steel Blue 4,140
Subiaco v Claremont at Leederville 2,034
East Frem v East Perth at East Fremantle 1,748
Perth v West Perth at EFTel 1,583

Good Crowds, we were told 3840 but they must add people from the Colts games to the figures, and add them at the end.

All in all some great figures...that 4000 crowd is a significant milestone beats last years ANZAC day attendance by some 800 people.

Well Done WAFL.

I must thank Bensti from the forum on footygoss.com.au for posting these comprehensive stats on attendances that he receives from the WAFL after each round...so they are the official attendances.

Great average weekly figures.

After 6 Rounds:

2004: 44,235 Ave 1843

2005: 50,803 Ave 2117

Role Reversal time.

The SANFL crowds are sliding because their 2 blockbuster clubs have missed the finals in recent years.

The WAFL crowds are picking up nicely.

In my view, local footy starts getting some impressive atmosphere when crowds approach 6,000. That should be the goal IMO.

And damnit, schedule a Friday night game every week without fail!

Friday Night matches are hell of annoying for me.

Will be interesting what the crowd will be like when I travel up to Geraldton on Skywest in a few weeks.

Looking forward to the match.

The crowd averages have increased mainly due to MAJOR inflating of the first game at Claremont.

But hey it looks good, so Ill take it

In NSW, North Sydney have taken to moving their games to Friday nights. They're getting bigger crowds now (around 4-500).

Newtown play their games on Saturday arvo. They don't compete with any elite sport (except club Rugby Union, if you can call that "elite"). They do well out of it. No one has an excues "but I gotta go watch the Swans" etc.

Either way I think it is more about establishing routine than it is about finding the right time.

I wonder what would happen if Saints somehow lost their NRL licence and continued on in Premier League?

But that isn't going to happen.

I was just looking at the highest crowd at Steel Blue Oval for 2004 was 3185

This years Anzac Day match was 4140

Nearly 1000 more people.

Extremely impressive.

4000 of those fans were Swans the other 140 were Sths supporters...if they had of had Swans v East Perth many more away supporters would have attended...bassendean and fremantle arent exactly close to each other.

I just have to say GO PEEL THUNDER.

How does it feel Stadium Seagull...the Sharkies have had a wealth of misery this year

First victory of the year and it gets us off the bottom of the ladder, with the wooden spoon contest this Staurday at Eftel

But like usual we wont be doing the broadcast, will be at Steel Blue Oval, which isnt too bad because I absolutely love going to this venue.

1491 people for the League game at Claremont...i get why the attendance always looks smaller, their a huge amount of claremont supporters in this caged glass boxes with comfy seats and in the bar area.

Will give official attendances later this week.

CMON THUNDER

P.S Still sack Garry Hocking!

I watched this match on the box before heading off to Subi. It looked like 3 men and a dog were there.

I don't know if I could get motivated to watch that every week, I swear.

and that East Perth guernsey. It would be as bad as Swiss soccer shirts for the all the advertising it has on it. Very unsightly, I swear! :x

Also impacted by playing all games on Saturday up against both AFL clubs. Why do the WAFL insist on such crappy scheduling? Why not 1 on Friday and 1-2 on Sunday?
