Takes one of the CP&MPT playing fields out of action that they'd already hired for the season (CP&MPT had only a week's notice that this was happening), to go with the light rail tunnel ruining the playing fields there for three years.

And it won't be ready for the most watched event in Australia in 2015 - the Asian Cup.

Clap f***ing clap.

They're a bunch of f***ing geniuses in there.

On the plus side, it'll be ready for the State Election.

I played cricket where that bridge is last weekend...

Pitches are already a nightmare to book for my association. That looks like it'd wipe out two of the ones we use.

Is it just me or does the footprint for that bridge look bigger than it needs to be?

TBH, management of Moore Park east has been shithouse. When I was in high school, we used to use the playing fields for school sport. Now, they play repo sport elksewhere because they can't get a decent pitch. A lot of that is to do with car parking.

If it were up to me, SCGT would build a multi-storey car park on their members car park in exchange for restoring the fields back to full time use.

"Open in time for the 2015 World Cup"

This coming from the same people who claimed that the new stand would be completed in time for the Ashes Test.

I note that the SCG website has November as the latest 'News' item for the redevelopment of the stand. It would appear even they are too embarrassed to talk about it anymore. And the webcam is stuck on Jan 10.

The image I saw of the new grandstand recently looked like the roof hadn't progressed much at all since the Ashes Test. Has anyone seen progress? Meanwhile, Adelaide Oval is almost done!

Multi storey car parks are a bitch for a sporting event, because everyone wants to get out at the same time and there are usually only a couple of exits.

^^ looks like the baseball layout is almost complete

The Dodgers may not care too much for this trip but how are ticket sales going for these games?

Not directly at you, but in passing there's a lot of comparison going on between the SCG and AO redevelopments. One thing I will say in the SCG's defence - you don't spend half your time in Adelaide trying to cut through sand stone.

That said, the SCG trust is inviting criticism by slapping on such ridiculous deadlines.
