Re: SCG Northern Stand
It was odd being at the game (sitting in the Ladies Stand). The rest of the ground was reasonably well filled though, so the atmosphere was still pretty good. Just strange hearing nothing but silence from the northern end though.
The chick on the Ch 10 show - After the Game, or whatever its called - made a comment about how poor the Swans crowd was. Clearly doesn't bother to do any research before she opens her mouth...

It must be quiet if a Swans fan says it was quiet. We do have a reputation for being a bit placid.
But I know what you mean. I remember watching Sydney Olympic at the SFS once and they only opened the western concourse. Felt weird.
Re the crowd, I agre with you. It was comparable with Swans-Freo clashes at the SCG over the past ten years. They're all between 20-26k.

I went to the Swans game yesterday, and took a few pics of the old Noble/Bradman stand. Not too much has been done yet, they have just taken out a number of banks of seats in the stand and the concourse areas.

Would be awesome if those seats found their way in to some suburban grounds.

Newer tip up seats. That's what the SCG did when they went with all green seating.Simmo79 wrote:are they newer tip-up seats like in the new stand or re-painted old bucket seats?

Sounds a bit low, the ATM would run out of cash in a day.Egan wrote:35,000 the capacity of the ground ATM?

The reduced capacity should be tested with the form Sydney's in.

Re: SCG Northern Stand
Got the Crows this Sat night. I reckon about 25k, which will be reasonably full, but not chockers.
I sometimes wonder if attendances count the SCG members who come through the turnstiles, but never actually sit in a sit, but spend their time propping up the various bars.

Re: SCG Northern Stand
They do because those people walk through a turnstile to get in to the precinct.
Anybody know the restrictions behind the stand? Can you still use the tunnel to get from Paddington Lane to the concourse during these works?

Not sure about that, but Members can't use the entrance near the SFS anymore - need to enter via the traditional gates on Driver Ave.Jeffles wrote:They do because those people walk through a turnstile to get in to the precinct.
