I'm stuck between a 6 year old, and a late teenager who's soft in the head.

Is this going to be called Lakeside Stadium? It will look gr8 when it is finished.....best dedicated athletics stadium in Australia. They have converted the old SMFC grandstand into a modern facility of several levels for entertaining, etc. Interesting to see the old members entrance converted to doorways, but with the old signs on the brickwork: Medallion Holders 1-1300!

The venue is looking very nice indeed. They've just replaced all the seats in the main grandstand with new white ones, similar to the new outer grandstand. Light towers are also up since that photo on the previous page was taken. Look pretty decent as well.
They are trying to source a naming rights sponsor but nothing has been announced as yet. For the moment the official name of the venue is Lakeside Stadium. I've heard there have been heaps of issues in getting the venue finished, especially in the VIS building (area which includes the old South Melbourne grandstand). Will hopefully get some photos soon.
