Seating looks great to what we may have thought. Not sure how long this venue will be out of business to construct these seats.ALF wont be happy

^ Nah they are. They get lights, Geelong gets to play night games at the venue during AFL season. 3rd AFL venue for the AFL, for when they have scheduling commitments at MCG/Etihad.

Its everything they have ever wanted for free. Read Cockerill's comment on Dimwit...

Geelong stadium has been out of action for long periods before - Geelong are happy just to play in Melbourne instead. The AFL will be glad to make sacrifices in this case, they know this upgrade will be of massive benefit to the Cats.

Should be made as football friendly as possible. Whether that means retractable seats or the smallest regulation size ALF field.

FFA have to have the mindset that one day this is going to be the home of Geelong FC.

It is already the narrowest AFL ground and would be reasonable if not ideal as a club venue if that width is retained. 122m rings a bell for the width. Anyway, it is narrower than Etihad and the Caketin.

I get 126m across (stand edge to stand edge) and 183m long.

Hopefully the length is reduced permanently.

Surely there must be retractable seats in this thing or else this will be one big stuff up for the bid. What will it bring? Nothing.

Will still be the home of the Geelong FC. Expansion of the ground is already in the master-plan. If we get WC it will mean improvements for footy fans in Geelong - maybe more AFL games out of Melb. Benefits for AFL, of course - but can't ever see a local soccer team drawing 1,000 there.

I wonder how people would feel about the Angela Merkel Stand being extended around 3/4 of the ground.

And leave only one Victorian venue? I doubt it. This will be in.

And I like the Merkel. Saw it in person last week. Impressive.
