Sometimes I sit down BUT you reminded me of something.

I was at Leichhardt for a NRL game last year and it was packed. It was too crowded to sit on the hill so I stood up and all these people behind complained because they wanted the privilege of seating 1 per 2sqm. This really impractical when demand is that high.

WHEN IT'S PACKED FOLD UP THE RUG AND STAND YOU SELFISH PEOPLE.

The latest Red V magazine has an artist's image of the current works at Kogarah. It confirms that the southern half of the grandstand extension is being undertaken, with the North Western temporary seating remaining, presumably to be replaced with the next grant.

Looks like the construction is coming along nicely :D. It would have been better if these photos were taken last year.

Thanks Kelly... I should've posted that link a few days ago but it's been one of those weeks. Your link is broken and there are actually two new sets of photos of interest, so I'll repost them.

1. Centenary of Rugby League plaque. Not a huge fan of the phrase "St George Illawarra played occasional home games here from 1999." I know what they're getting at but it doesn't sound right.

2. Latest upgrade photos, taken last weekend.

how did St George only remain unbeaten for 56 games between 54 and 66? Where were their other home games?

SCG for match of the day.

Since Saints were the team back then, whenever we played one of the better teams the game would be the match of the day. Consequently we only played the bad teams at Kogarah and won them all.

Take this for what it is worth...
Definitely back at Kogarah next year and there have been encouraging noises that the club will get the extra $7 mil in next next month’s State budget. The only question is how many they will play at OKI. Doust has made no commitment on this one, so expect at least two or three big games to stay at ANZ because of the attractive guarantees they offer.

Why is it that St. George-Illawarra & Cronulla are being given government grants to upgrade Oki Jubilee & Toyota Park respectively yet Manly's attempts at the same for Brookvale are falling on deaf ears?

Without having looked into it in any great detail, I suspect it's because the local members think they can get more votes out of other projects in the Northern Beaches.

There was a snippet in a paper a couple of weeks back that Grant Mayer was close to securing some dosh in the budget for Manly. I don't know what will come of that but it may not all be lost for Manly.

Warringah and Mackeller just have to stop being hard-core Liberal to get money.

What I'd like to know is why several Sydney grounds plus Newcastle get money thrown at them while the Illawarra can't get a cent! So much for being the 3rd largest city... Labor take Wollongong for granted.

You have a very short memory.

WIN received an $8 million dollar upgrade in 2002.

Yes that's right... and of that, 4 mil came from WIN Corp! So the state government tipped in a pathetic 4mil to the South Coast's only major sporting stadium 6 long years ago, when we all know it desperately needs a hell of a lot more just to remain functioning!

Dont vote labor.Labor lost 2 hunter seats in the last election, also eas will be part of the 2018 wc bid.Services in the hunter are dire like western sydney, even the state liberals know this and for the first time that i can recall are developing a strategy to take on labor in the region.
