Environment Assessment --> Appendix D
Environment Assessment --> Appendix F
Environment Assessment --> Appendix G

Not sure if these links will work:

http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.a ... tement.pdf
http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.a ... 0Study.pdf

Note of course that most show Stage 2, which is as far as I can tell is not what is actually funded at this point.

Are they going to extend the ground? I do rather like the egg shape of it.

The playing surface looks more symmetrical in the diagrams so I guess there may be some re-shaping.

In fact, it looks like the outfield (baseball term) is going to be made narrower. Small to no pocket there after redevelopment.

Still looks a bit half-arsed, but agree it looks slightly better than the original drawings that came out. The shape of the ground still looks quite 'pointy' - it would be cool to retain that I think and would make a nice Sydney contrast with the almost round SCG. While we will now have two Sydney teams, it would be great if they could both develop particular playing styles that suited the peculiarities of their respective home grounds.

Trumper Park it is not! At last a decent stadium for Aussie Rules in Sydney....well overdue.

They should have made this at Blacktown - but I can see their logic in the positioning in Homebush. Big developments happening their in the next 5-15 years - and sorta proximal to the GWS corporate targets of Norwest.

There are some whispers around Sydney AFL that we might not see game played at ANZ stadium as a regular fixture for too much longer...

It's nowhere near the people they're targeting, nowhere near the corporates, it's shaped like a renovated baseball field, the roof looks like a flabby vagina, and it's next door to a stadium that handles aussie rules just fine.

Yeah - not really at all with you here.

Wrong. Targeting wrong. Corporates wrong. ANZ stadium wrong.
Wrong Yob.

I don't agree that ANZ Stadium handles AFL just fine. I rate it the worst venue in the comp. The one and only thing going for it is its 80k capacity. It has the worse surface, the shape of the lower seating bowl looks cheap and nasty, as well as the gaps on either side of the movable seating. The padding on the fence, the crap interchange benches, and so on. I'm all for making it rectangular, providing stadium management are happy to lose cricket (T20?) and therefore have no sports events in summer.

Cam I would be ecstatic with this venue's existence if it meant ANZ would actually become a decent stadium for the rugby codes.

But it's not going to happen. So it's f***ing enfuriating that taxpayers dollars are being spent on an AFL stadium ACROSS THE ROAD FROM AN AFL STADIUM!!!!

Where are we? Dundee?!?

If rugby league can be played there with the top tiers closed then beats me why aussie rules can't.

That said, if given the choice between $100 million on a useless stadium and $100 on not building the Sydney metro I'll obviously take the stadium.

Has anyone explained why they didn't expand the facility at Blacktown instead?
