Re: Auckland Stadiums

The Warriors would have been dragged kicking and screaming to Eden Park or QBE. Eden Park is too expensive and night events are limited, and QBE is just a big lol.

I saw day 1 reported at 43k.

Whether that's right or not is another story.

It surprises me that Wellington is in good form yet gets close to half the crowd of previous years?

Wellington are trying to bail on their contract, so a dodgy figure isn't a shock.

Re: A-LEAGUE launch: "New Football"

Probably the best thread for it. Club World Cup. Auckland City have beaten the Moroccan champions. A great result. These guys look better than semi-pro. Granted, it's easy to look good when your opposition demands it. What a fapper's paradise it'd be if the NZ football championship clubs were added...

If we follow the Stars phrasing, I guess withheld means 'not even family'

It made news in NZ with that fat bloke scoring an own try.

Then we forgot about it and moved it.

Re: A-LEAGUE launch: "New Football"

Yeah, Auckland. Though I'd want to know Ian's perspective on why the Kingz failed. Was it the club (product) or the city (market) that was the problem? Wollongong and Auckland for 6 games per round. Brand. 100%. Auckland would work instantly at Mt Smart or Eden Puke. I see it as working like the Wa...

Re: Brazil 2014 Stadiums

The locals can rightly protest a lot about the world cup, but I'd say the price to redo this stadium prooooobably was a wash at worst.
